Use perpetual when a project needs a known release without recurring billing. Use subscription when continued access to the current release and the terms attached to the active plan are the better fit.

Perpetual

Pay once for one named-seat licence to the release identified at checkout. The purchase includes 12 months of updates, and you may continue using the licensed release after that update period ends. Later updates are not included automatically.

Use this option when a project needs a fixed release without recurring billing.

Subscription

Pay per named seat for access during the active billing term. The plan renews automatically each month until canceled. Cancel before the next renewal to avoid the next charge; access continues through the paid period.

Use this option when you want ongoing access to the current release.

A purchased licence is assigned to one individual user. An organization with several users purchases one seat for each person and selects the tier required by the intended use.

Support differs by tier

Indie includes standard and community support. Professional and Studio include priority support. Enterprise support and onboarding are defined in the written agreement.
